To celebrate its 180th anniversary, Longines has released two new high-function watch models: the Longines Telemeter Chronograph and Longines Tachymeter Chronograph – each offering performance and elegance.
The Longines Telemeter Chronograph has a white lacquered dial with a red telemeter scale on the dial that was inspired by a 1933 timepiece. Telemeter scales were initially introduced around 1852 to measure the distance travelled by sound. The 41mm steel watch houses the caliber L688 self-winding chronograph movement, whose workmanship is visible via a sapphire caseback. Similarly, the Longines Tachymeter Chronograph with white lacquered dial also house the L688 column-wheel chronograph movement, but offers a tachymeter scale in blue and red on the dial, which was inspired by a Longines watch
developed in 1934.
These watches are timelessly elegant yet modern and sporty. Each retails for $3,250 – a great price for the Swiss-made beauties that look great on the wrist and offer technical prowess.
