Last year Ulysse Nardin, master at the world’s finest marine chronometers, unveiled the Marine Diver Black Sea – to rave reviews. Now, the brand delves deeper in to the category with the Marine Diver Blue Sea, manufactured in house.
The resolute sports watch is a superbly beautiful dive instrument – with a self-winding movement, 42 hours of power reserve and water resistant to 200 meters. A powerful statement, the 45.8mm watch is crafted in stainless steel that is specially treated with a vulcanized process to give it a blue rubber coating with amazing feel. The exhibition case back reveals the movement, which is also blued. Certain parts of the movement are treated with a stainless blue titanium based alloy and 
some parts were reworked to accept this coating process.
Ulysse Nardin’s wave pattern adorns the strap and dial, while the hour markers and hands are covered with blue luminescent material. The power reserve indicator is at 12:00, date display is at 6: with the small seconds. The watch is equipped with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel and screwed crown. Each is individually numbered on the case side and just 999 pieces will be made. If I had the extra approximately $10,900, I would jump on this one!
