The original watch, which can be seen above on the sexy leg of Bell & Ross’s own Alexandra Castro, featured a bold minute indicator so bombers could perfectly time their minute. It was equipped with oversized straps on all sides. We’ve written about Bell & Ross many times before, but this one is grand! During BaselWorld last month, the brand unveiled a new generation in its Vintage collection that clearly moves the brand from World War 1 inspirations to World War 2. The new Vintage WW2 Bomber Regulateur watch ensures optimum legibility of the minutes – critical for WW2 bombers of the 1930’s and 1940’s — by separating the time information. The 49 mm watch with bold bidirectional notched bezel that makes it immediately identifiable from across any room, features a central hand for the minutes, a counter for the hours, and a small independent seconds hand, enabling a fast and precise reading of short amounts of time.
Emulating the original watch, the VINTAGE WW2 has mobile strap fastenings which adjust to the wrist for absolute comfort. The watch case is gun-metal gray steel with an aged patina. The sand-colored hands, numerals and index markers emphasize the authentic nature of this timepiece; a worn leather look is achieved via the distressed calf skin strap. The Swiss made complicated movement is a based on a Dubois Depraz caliber.
